We’re Back! And Yes, There Was a Rake Involved
After a brief hiatus (aka adult life got in the way), The Mulligan Men are back and we came back swinging. Literally. This week’s video features yours truly and Mulligan Boy (Kyle), braving the golf course with 50% battery, questionable health, and zero expectations of actual golf improvement. So basically, business as usual.
The Return (feat. Mucinex and Missed Clubs)
Let’s address the elephant on the tee box, I was sick. Not the “power through it” kind of sick. I’m talking full-on, cold medicine haze, tissues in the golf cart, voice two octaves lower kind of sick. But when you’re part of The Mulligan Men, you don’t cancel golf, you just lower your standards.
Kyle, ever the supportive son, did what any good teammate would do: make fun of me, forget his clubs, and hit a rake from 50 yards out.
The Great “Stick” Debate
At one point, Kyle looked at me, completely serious, and asked, “What stick are you using here?”
Stick. He called it a stick.
After I stopped laughing (and coughing), I informed him that while it is technically a stick-like object, it’s commonly referred to as a club. But sure, let’s go caveman with it. Golf, but make it prehistoric.
From that point forward, everything was a stick. The driver? Big stick. The putter? Gentle stick. The rake? You guessed it, angry stick.
The Rake Shot Heard Round the Sand Trap
Now let’s talk about Kyle’s shining moment: The rake shot.
Somewhere around 50 yards out, Kyle managed to laser a ball directly into a rake leaning up against a bunker. Not around it. Not near it. Into it. The ball ricocheted backward and into the sand trap like it was trying to run away from the embarrassment.
What followed was a classic Mulligan Boy bunker meltdown, half swing, full swing, half-hearted prayer. And just when you thought it couldn’t get more on-brand, he realized he left his pitching wedge…on hole 12.
Yes, again. He is officially tied with Kevin for most lost clubs. Which means we may need to start budgeting for a “lost and found” caddie in future videos.
Filming Fails and Battery Betrayals
If you were wondering why this week’s video ends on hole 16, it’s not because of a dramatic cliffhanger or a surprise guest appearance by Tiger Woods.
It’s because I forgot to charge the battery.
That’s right, we started filming with only 50% battery. By hole 16, the camera tapped out before we did. And honestly, given the quality of golf on display, that camera made the right call.
A Rough Round, a Great Time
In the end, the golf was awful. The jokes were constant. And the vibes were exactly what we needed to shake the rust off.
Between the sick dad, the club-forgetting son, the rake attack, and the battery issues, this video had all the elements of a classic Mulligan Men episode: chaos, comedy, and just enough golf to still call it a round.
So if you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure to watch the video. You’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, and you might even yell, “It’s called a club, Kyle!”.
Let it fly. 🏌️♂️
